Tiempo Tango Chicago - It's time to Dance!
Whether tango dancer or music appreciator, Tiempo Tango Chicago will move your heart and soul.
With its superbly performed arrangements of tango classics - Piazzolla and Villoldo, Tiempo Tango Chicago performs with originality and style.
Founded by flutist and tanguera (tango dancer), Julie Koidin, Tiempo Tango Chicago is an instrumental quartet. Our musicians include Julie (flute), Julien Labro (bandoneon), Joe Vito (accordion), Kevin Disch (piano), Irina Feoktistova (piano), and John Tuck (bass).
Our repertoire is unique and flexible. While our mission is to perform tangos, milongas, and waltzes, we also offer jazz standards (Cole Porter, Duke Ellington), Brazilian music (bossa nova, samba, choro), and even classical and holiday music, as cortinas, full dance sets, or as a mixture.
As of 2007, Tiempo Tango Chicago is proud to be on the Illinois Arts Council's "Artstour Roster." Artists on this roster go through a competitive process to be included. If you are an Illinois not-for-profit organization and would like to engage either Tiempo Tango Chicago or Dois no Choro (both groups on IAC roster), the IAC may provide a subsidy for your program.
